We handle information about three groups of people, and what we collect differs for each:
When you submit our contact form, we collect the information you enter: your first and last name, email address, phone number, company name, the type of inquiry, and whatever you write in the message field.
Our website is hosted by a third party hosting provider. Like most web hosts, it keeps standard server logs that may include IP addresses, browser type, and pages requested. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting.
Some pages on our site embed content from other services, including our job listings and our vacancy cost calculator. Those services may set their own cookies when you interact with them. We do not control those cookies, and you should review the privacy policies of those providers for details.
When you apply for a role through our job listings, we collect the information you provide, which typically includes your name, contact details, resume, work history, certifications and licenses, and any additional information you choose to share.
We may also collect information about you from other sources when we are sourcing for a role. This includes professional networking sites, job boards, publicly available professional profiles, referrals from people in our network, and professional data providers. If we contacted you and you did not apply to a role, this is how we found you. You can ask us at any time how we obtained your information.
We do not seek out or ask for sensitive information such as social security numbers, dates of birth, or financial details as part of general recruiting. If a specific placement requires that information at the offer or onboarding stage, it is collected separately and only when necessary.
We collect business contact information such as your name, title, company, work email, and work phone. We may collect this directly from you, from your company website, or from professional data providers we use for business development.
We collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name and company. We only send our newsletter to people who have asked to receive it. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, and we will action that request promptly.
We use personal information to:
This is the most important thing for candidates to understand. When we present you for a role, we share your resume and relevant background information with the employer client for that role. That is the service we provide. We do not send your information to an employer without your knowledge, and we will tell you which company we are submitting you to before we do it.
We use third party services to run our business. Rather than list individual vendors, which change over time, here are the categories of provider that may handle personal information on our behalf:
These providers process information on our behalf under contract and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. If you would like to know which specific providers we currently use, email us and we will tell you.
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or valid legal request, or where necessary to protect our rights, our clients, or the safety of others.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade candidate or client data to third parties for their own marketing.
Candidates. We keep candidate information for as long as you are part of our talent network, so that we can contact you about relevant opportunities as they come up. If we have had no meaningful contact with you for three years, we review your record and delete it unless there is a business or legal reason to keep it.
Clients. Client records are kept for the duration of our working relationship and afterward as needed for contractual, tax, and legal purposes.
Website inquiries. Contact form submissions are kept for as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of the inquiry.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time, regardless of these periods. See the next section.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
To make any of these requests, email info@latraeconsulting.com with what you would like us to do. We will respond within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, particularly for access or deletion.
Exercising any of these rights will not affect how we treat you. We will not refuse to work with a candidate because they asked us to correct or delete their information.
Some states and provinces give residents additional rights under their own privacy laws. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you may have the right to appeal to us directly, to contact your state attorney general, or, in Canada, to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
We recruit for roles in Canada and work with Canadian candidates and clients. When we do, we handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Consent. We collect, use, and disclose personal information about Canadian candidates for the purpose of recruiting and placement. Where consent is required, we obtain it. You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
Commercial electronic messages. Every commercial email we send to a Canadian recipient identifies us clearly, includes our contact information, and provides a working unsubscribe mechanism. We honour unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.
Where your information is stored. We are a United States business and our systems and service providers are located primarily in the United States. This means personal information about Canadian residents is stored and processed outside Canada, and may be accessible to United States courts, law enforcement, and government authorities under United States law. By providing information to us, you understand it will be handled this way.
Access and complaints. You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask for corrections. Email info@latraeconsulting.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Website visitor identification. We use a third party service that helps us identify the companies visiting our website. It records your IP address and matches it against a business database, which tells us which organizations have visited and which pages they viewed. It does not identify individual visitors by name. We use this information for business development, to understand which companies are interested in our services.
This service sets a cookie and collects your IP address. If you would prefer not to be included, most browsers allow you to block cookies through their settings, and you can email us at info@latraeconsulting.com to ask that we exclude your visits.
Advertising. Our website does not use advertising pixels or retargeting cookies.
Embedded content. Third party content embedded in our site, including our job listings and our vacancy cost calculator, may set its own cookies when you interact with it. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings.
We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals, because there is no common standard for how to interpret them.
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including limiting access to the people who need it, using reputable service providers, and securing our website with encryption.
No method of storing or transmitting information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Our services are intended for adults seeking employment and for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Our website links to other sites, including employer websites and our job listings. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them.
We may update this policy as our practices or the law changes. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top. If we make a significant change to how we use personal information, we will take reasonable steps to let affected people know.
