Licensed Diesel Mechanic I (Red Seal)
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pay: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
Winnipeg's a small enough trade that word gets around about which shops treat their journeypersons properly and which ones don't. This is one of the good ones.

What you'll be doing
- Diagnosing, overhauling and repairing tractors and trailers across the fleet
- Major component work: engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems, complete assemblies
- Air and hydraulic brake systems, steering, wheel ends, suspension, HVAC
- Preventive maintenance at all levels, documented properly
- Identifying warrantable repairs and writing them up on the repair order
- Road testing to confirm the fix before the unit goes back out
- Working independently, at your own pace, without someone hovering
What you bring
- Red Seal or Manitoba journeyperson certification as a Truck and Transport Mechanic or Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
- 5+ years hands-on tractor-trailer experience
- Class 3 licence with air brake endorsement, or the ability to obtain it within six months
- Full set of hand tools
- Certification in good standing with Apprenticeship Manitoba
What it actually pays
- $40.00 to $45.00 per hour base on days
- Shift premiums where applicable: $3.00 evening, $4.00 overnight
