Licensed Diesel Mechanic I (310T)
Location: Mississauga, Ontario Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Pay: $41.00 to $43.00 per hour
An early start, off the floor by mid-afternoon, and your Sundays and Mondays back. For a lot of licensed mechanics that schedule is worth more than another dollar an hour somewhere else.
This is a straight 310T seat in Mississauga on a well-kept fleet with current tooling and diagnostic equipment. No flat rate, no fighting for hours, no being handed a truck that three people have already given up on.
What you'll be doing
- Diagnostics, overhaul and repair across tractors and trailers
- Major components: engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems
- Air and hydraulic brakes, steering, wheel ends, suspension, HVAC
- Preventive maintenance at all levels, documented properly
- Flagging warrantable repairs on the repair order
- Road testing to confirm the fix
- Working independently and managing your own pace
What you bring
- Ontario 310T Truck and Coach Technician Certificate of Qualification, current with Skilled Trades Ontario
- 5+ years hands-on tractor-trailer experience
- Class G licence, with the ability to obtain a DZ within six months of hire
- Your own hand tools
- Someone who takes pride in the work leaving the bay right the first time
What it actually pays
- $41.00 to $43.00 per hour base on days
- Shift premiums where applicable: $3.00 evening, $4.00 overnight
- Overtime available and paid at premium rates
