Licensed Diesel Mechanic I (310T)
Location: Dundas, Ontario Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Pay: $46.00 to $51.00 per hour (base $43.00 to $48.00 plus $3.00 evening shift premium)
You've got your 310T. You've done your time in the bay. You shouldn't still have to explain to a service manager why a job takes what it takes.
This shop runs afternoons, the equipment is current, and the people who run it know the difference between a licensed mechanic and a parts changer. If you're at the point where you want the ticket to actually mean something on your cheque, this one is worth a look.
What you'll be doing
- Full diagnostics, overhaul and repair on tractors and trailers across the fleet
- Major component work: engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems, complete assemblies
- Air and hydraulic brake systems, steering, suspension, wheel ends, HVAC
- PMs at all levels, with warrantable repairs identified and written up properly
- Road testing to confirm the fix before it leaves the yard
- Working on your own without someone standing over your shoulder
This location services fleet equipment that hauls animal by-product. It's honest work and the trailers see hard duty, so expect real repairs rather than a steady diet of oil changes.
